As you may have heard, the ACDA has been hard at work and very busy doing much needed dental aid trips to Vanuatu over the last 6 months! Through our trips, we have now streamlined the process to allow anyone to go and be very productive but also have a great experience. We have had an absolutely fantastic time on our trips, providing MUCH needed treatment to the most beautiful and deserving population. We also got to enjoy the beautiful country and immerse ourselves in their culture.
If you’ve been thinking about dental volunteering and using your skills to help a population that desperately needs it, this is the trip for you! The locals love ACDA and what we stand for and are very happy and welcoming of our dental relief treatment – so much so that they have even written a few newspaper articles about us!
We are now organising our trips for 2017 and aim to be sending groups up on a regular basis. If you are interested in going to Vanuatu to provide dental aid, please PM us with your contact details and what months of the year suits you best! Whether you want to go with your friends or on your own please get in contact! Trips can be as short or long as you want.
There are two main types of volunteering – out in the villages or at our clinic. You can choose to do either.
– In the villages: this is a more involved and labourous type of volunteering and involves driving out to villages with a local in the dental van to provide emergency relief (predominantly extractions). Treatment can be completed in the van or outdoors in a shelter.
– Port Villa Clinic: this is a fully functional clinic with standard procedures.
